We are delighted to welcome two visiting researchers to the Shame and Medicine Project this year.
Jenny Cunningham, Midwife and PhD student, Kingston University London. Jenny’s work focuses on weight stigma in maternity services. Read her blog post ‘Maternity care for women of a higher weight – how is shame experienced?’ written for the Shame and Medicine Project. Jenny will be based at the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health until end of January 2024.
Louise Folker, PhD student, University of Copenhagen. Louise’s work focuses, in part, on experiences of shame related to dentistry and dental care among older adults. Louise will be at the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health for a week in September.
